Every Thursday, More Than Apples collects food that would otherwise go to waste and distributes it to families in North County San Diego. Each week, our Abundance Boxes are unique and filled with a variety of packaged goods, baked items, cold items, and fresh produce.

We kindly request your prompt arrival at the designated pick-up location. To ensure safety and efficiency for all, we ask that you remain in your vehicle throughout the process. Upon arrival, please join the queue of cars, roll down your car window, and provide your name to our friendly volunteer.

For your convenience and to expedite the process, our volunteers will use a chalk marker to write your order on your windshield when you check in. This marker easily washes off with water. After checking in, proceed to the first tent, where a dedicated More Than Apples volunteer will carefully place the initial load of Abundance Box contents directly into your trunk. Continue following the queue and drive to the remaining tents as directed. At each station, our dedicated volunteers will load the contents of your Abundance Box directly into your trunk, ensuring you receive everything you need. At the final station, a volunteer will kindly close your trunk, ensuring your items are secure for your journey home. Once your trunk is closed, please exit the parking lot safely and head home to enjoy and share the abundance of food provided to you. We sincerely thank you for following these instructions, and we hope that your abundant bounty brings joy and nourishment to you and your loved ones.

If an entire Abundance Box is more than your family needs, don’t worry! Visit our Facebook group More Than Apples, Inc. Answer the 3 screening questions to be approved. Find the group settings, explore our community chats, and look for neighbors seeking a Box Buddy nearby. You can scan through the comments to find someone conveniently located. If not, create a post with your city, cross streets, dietary preferences (e.g., meat-eating, vegan/vegetarian, low-carb, etc.), and indicate your ability to pick up in Escondido or with one of our dedicated ambassadors.

The ambassador spots are limited and claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.

While our Ambassadors are volunteers and may not charge for their service, we kindly encourage small donations to help cover the rising costs of gas and general inflation, as they go the extra mile to bring you your Abundance Boxes.

If you’re picking up your Abundance Box on-site, our address is 2525 East Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92027. If you’ve secured an ambassador spot, you will receive their address after your order has been confirmed.
